I just got off a webinar with Jason Fladlien and Maria Guidelis, showing Jason’s new Plugin “Plus One Profits” wordpress plugin. The plugin created by Jason And Wilson Mattos, Is an extension of the ever rising in popularity of the Google+1 system.  Google+1 has been raising some ears and news about how this will effect web users and search rankings, it is in my opinion that this will help sites with there indexing and rankings in Google.

I am by no means an SEO expert, but if I can use a feature of Googles that can potentially help me get my sites indexed and higher in the search engines, I am going to at least try it out. This doesn’t mean that I am going to try something for a week and if I do not notice a difference I am going to assume something fails. I probably do not post on here as much I should, actually I know I don’t, but over time my posts have ranked pretty well on their own with little to no promotion of any kind.

What I liked about Google+1 that Jason shown on the webinar is that it shows a certain social proof aspect, that if you think about it, being a Google feature the big G will notice you a lot quicker. You can easily pick up a Google+1 plugin from the wordpress plugin directory and are pretty much install and go. What I liked about the Plus One Profits Plugin is a nice redirect feature, when someone clicks the +1  you can have them redirected to anywhere else.

With that feature alone it makes it worth it, for example if you are blogging about a social issue that your visitor is fond of you can redirect them to another source of related information. This could be anywhere, a site you own or even a free download of some sort. You could quite possibly create a Google+1 link wheel creating traffic to your other sites just from clicking a button!

Another possibility is that by using G+1 when you click through to see G+1 peofiles you will see the sites the “plussed” this gives even more social proof that the sites they like are worth visiting. Anyone viewing these profiles can visit the sites shown in the profile, as time goes inevitably you will gain more links and more eyeballs on those links which will lead to more website traffic.  I For one cant wait to see if my traffic increases using a Google+1 button on this site.

I will write another post on any increases in traffic and visitors I get,  so this should be a worthwhile test of Google+1.
